Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid?
Salicylic acid is the most over the counter acne medications, I've been using at least four years I just found another name for aspirin, and I'm allergic to aspirin … can this be what is making my acne worse?
Aspirin is the acid acetasalicylic not salicylic acid.
