Using Paraben-free Skincare Products

If you have been wondering what parabens are and why they are classified as avoidable in skincare products, then your option for paragen-free skincare products should be considered.

What are Parabens?

Parabens are chemical compounds that are synthesized from alcohol and fatty esters. They are very popular with the skincare industry for their good safety record and are used as preservatives.

Look for names like ethylparaben, benzoic acid, and the like of the labels of the underarm deodorant that you use. It the product has it, it may mean that your system is absorbing some quantity of these chemicals everyday.

What Can Happen?

Parabens have not been linked conclusively to any health problem yet. However, traces of them have been reportedly found in twenty samples of breast cancer tissue.

The worry is that the molecules of parabens that may find their way into our bodies are known to mimic the action of estrogen, and thereby they may be the cause for the growth of a tumor.

We know that they accumulate in our bodies because every sample of breast cancer tissue that was examined showed the presence of parabens.

Is There Proof of This?

The chemical industry insists that there is no proof that these chemicals endanger our health in any way, and we continue to use many types of skincare and face care products, including sunscreen lotion, regularly.

It stands to reason that with every use these chemicals must be finding their way into our bodies and just staying there. They don’t break down, and are not being excreted.

In other words, these toxins are just building up in there, and have the potential to cause trouble. Why be concerned with toxin buildup when pareben-free skincare products do not pose that danger.

Which Products Contain Parabens?

Unfortunately, parabens are everywhere. Your everyday moisturizers, deodorants, antiperspirants, cosmetics, shaving creams, you name it and it usually contains one or other of these preservatives.

The reason is obvious: they all need to have a long shelf life and retain their quality despite being stored in all sorts of conditions. Perhaps the moisturizers, shaving creams and deodorant/antiperspirants are the biggest liabilities for us because we use them the most frequently.

Common sense dictates that we use chemicals as little as possible, and give our bodies, specifically the sensitive skin of our faces, the best possible care.

How Can I Be Paraben-Free?

For those who are looking for a way out of the paraben-soaked situation that we live in the Western world, there are now skincare products available that are 100% pure skincare or paraben-free.

They may use natural parabens, or natural Vitamin E that has a preservative action, or any of the new and exciting skincare products that are now available. Look at the advantages: you will not be inflicting hazardous chemicals on your body, and staying clear of likely sources of allergies and irritants. Get paraben-free and give your body healthy natural care.
